    Hey guys. My dad wants a remote starter for his 2012 for xmas. Ive been hearing about some sort of plug and play system for the newer trucks. Do y'all know anything about them?

    $184 plus shipping?
    Sounds like a spin off of the older T-harness connections.
    Great if it was only a couple connections, maybe
    these connections are for factory line workers to use but
    remote start wasn't and add on to the build sheet.

    For that price I think I might stick with aftermatket.

    Joe do you know if this something.that a dealer has to install? Since it comes with new keys do they need to be flashed or anything? Now that I'm thinking about it I may go this route if it really is that quick and easy to install as long as we don't have to pay a dealer to install it.

    I have a Clifford alarm/ remote start and that works with the viper GPS/ alarm 2 way box.

    My point is if you go with a after market it can be expanded down the road.

    Doesn't say dealer installation required.
    Does say made by Ford and retains
    factory warranty.
    I never knew putting on an aftermarket alarm system
    could void the manufacturer's factory warranty.

    Programming the alarm's keys should be in the owner's manual
    or online somewhere.
