As some of you may know.I spray painted my interior dash pieces red.Well I'm going another rout.Going to black.

Question is.How do i remove the old red paint?

Also whats a good cleaner for afterwords once it's all removed?

Also i am going with the Krylon black fusion for plastic. Is this just spray on and no prep work needed?

Want it to look great.Any other info you guys might think would be helpful to me would be great. Thanks guys.

After getting as much of the old paint off, the only thing you really need to do is make sure the surface is clean and as dust free as possible. I'd hit it off with some acetone right before you paint it.

I don't think it would hurt to use the adhesion promoter, but that Fusion sticks pretty good to plastic without it.

I was just thinking "better safe than sorry" His dash is peeling now because of bad prep work. That's the key to a good paint job. Ask me how I know...:jester:

No I'd probably do the same thing. I had to replace the trim around my stereo from not prepping the paint right. I ended up ruining it and finally gave up and replaced it. Adhesion promoter damn sure wouldn't hurt anything that's for sure. :waytogo:

Isnt there an actual paint that is used for interior plastics? Let me try and find it or call my buddy who does custom interior work.
