Ok so I'm wondering why would someone drop a 4x4 and put offroad low offset wheels wrapped with street tires. It's a white guy (cop to be exact) and it looks like a mexitruck. Any idea why someone would **** up a ford truck like that?

Not everyone needs 4x4 for off roading. Mostly for snow conditions. They make a AWD Harley truck, which would be nice in the snow (if you were an idiot to drive it in the snow). Honestly, i've tossed the idea of dropping my 4x4 and making an L clone. Better traction in a launch, and great for changing seasons. Plus tires would be a little cheaper ;and MPGs would be a little better then jacking up one of these bricks

Yes I know a dood that has low profile tires on 22s and lowered his z71. That thing is fast because of the gearing, and usually most 4x4s have the bigger motor, lsd, and 3.73s or 3.55s.

i get your point, especially when it's a flordia truck. i like lowered trucks, but rear wheel drive wouldn't even get me up my driveway in the winter. so, a lowered 4x4 is not a horrible idea. it's also super easy to do on our trucks: lower the torsion bars, pull out the block in the rear.

There's a lot of lowered Z71's it seems. I don't see anything wrong with it honestly. If the person doesn't want it to sit high, but still needs a 4x4 for certain occasions that's their business. Not all 4x4 owners are trying to jump tree stumps and drive through ditches wide open. :jester:

Y'all can laugh, but if I had a 4x4 I'd never take it off road. Too damn much trouble to clean. :jester:

I don't mind saying it, I'd still have a pavement queen if I owned a 4X4. I might occasionally take it through some grass... :jester:
