I don't think tranny fluid would make much difference on your truck, since it isn't that old, but my with my IDI diesel it makes a huge difference. Diesel fuel has changed twice since my truck was made, and adding ATF makes up for the lack of lubricity found in the ULSD fuel now used. I run a quart per tank, whatever brand is cheapest, and it makes more power, runs smoother, gets better milage and smokes less. I would definitely research it thoroughly before using it in your 6.0 though.

I put it in the tank, i noticed a difference with the seafoam.. didnt really notice a difference with the tranny fluid. Someone told me to try all three to see if my injectors were gummed up. I bought mine from Oreillys. Im going to try the diesel power and see if that helps.. im afraid mine is more than the injectors though, thought it was a blown head gasket the way it was acting but when i searched online everything said it would be spilling coolant everywhere and mine isnt doing that so who knows!!

I put a pint in the fuel filter element housing after a filter change on our 7.3 PSD. Drain the filter housing, remove old filter, install a new Racor OEM filter, and fill it with Seafoam per their instructions.

I have run Lucas fuel treatment, Diesel Power and Racor Diesel Biocide thru the F250 since 2001.

Wanna see how much water is in the diesel you buy? Fill a 5 gal diesel container and let it sit over night outside in freezing weather, next morning you will find ice chunks in the bottom depending on how much water is in the fuel.

My dad (1943-2009) and uncle (Cummins Foreman 30+ years) said the mining industry equipment operators use kerosene to shut down and start up diesel engines in sub freezing weather to eliminate fuel gel-water problems. Once the engine is running they switch to diesel as kerosene doesn't have enough oil quantity in it's distillate formula to run a diesel engine long term.

thanks a bunch for all the feedback. I went to the local diesel shop on friday to ask a couple of questions when they dropped a bombshell on me. Atleast one of my injectors is bad and the other ones are limping along (never been changed and truck has 155,500 miles). I am probably gonna replace all of them through the ford dealership this month. Do yall think i should stay with the stockers or try and get a bigger size injector???

I would go bigger if cost is not an issue. Figure the cost of a larger exhaust also.

Well, cost is an issue of course :jester:

But i dont know if ford does anything besides stock injectors and i dont feel like spending money on the exhaust because the current setup sounds good enough for now!

What I understand about larger injectors, more fuel = higher EGTs.
A larger diameter exhaust keeps the EGTs down and keeps the turbo alive longer.
I either turn on the turbo timer or wait till the EGTs are below 250 degrees on the pyrometer before shutting off our 7.3.
