I have had trouble for the past few weeks with my seatbelts not engaging properly. The truck has 247k miles on it so there is plenty of wear on them, however I have never heard of wearing out a seatbelt. When you put the upper and lower belt together it clicks in place and about half the time it is fine, however the other half of the time the belt will just come undone if I put any pressure on it.

Has anyone had an issue like this before? And any recommendation on replacement parts. Ford wants $175 per side to replace just the portion that bolts on the floor.

never heard of any seat belt problems but there is always a possibility for something tearing up. have you checked other resources such as jegs or maybe even tasca for cheaper prices?

It's uncanny to be rolling along minding your own business and the buckle just pops out. I may see what I can find aftermarket.

Thanks for the info on your 96!

Spray some fluid film in it. It might be a little rusty

You better fix your seat belt, if it cannot be fixed anymore then you must replace it. Seat belt is very important, it can lessen the impact of collision in times of accidents. Everybody in the car should wear seat belts properly. If you have your dog with you, then it is also your responsibility to give him a seat belt. Keeping pets protected is incredibly essential. Some pet owners, however, do not concentrate on safety. Here are some fundamentals for keeping your pet protected in a car, no matter how long or how far you are driving.
