Side molding removal

    Here are before and after pics.

    First off you need tooth floss I used nylon string.
    Take the string under the side molding on the edge and saw it. I already removed mine before this pic.

    Now you should have freed up the edge. Just bend it and pull it right off. This is what it looks like removed

    I used goof off which is sold in the paint area at Walmart. It is strong and won't mess up the paint. Just soak a corner of the rag with it and rub on the double sided tape.

    Now take your fingernail and pick the edge so it lifts up

    And finally take your thumb and rub it off

    There is another way of doing this. There is an eraser tool all it does is connect to your drill and you zip it right off. The tool starts at $10 and up.

    i was taking off my side mouldings and said F it, and got the drill and eraser out...saved soooo much time

    A TON of time. I did my truck in less then an hour, and that includes buffing it back out. :waytogo:

    Some AutoZones sell a different version that works pretty good too. I've seen them at Autozone, Pep Boys and automotive paint supply stores.
