just went and had codes pulled, a bunch of codes came up for banks 1 and 2 being lean, all 3 O2 sensors came up bad which could be causing the motor to run lean and insufficient flow to the EGR so i guess i can start throwing some money at it again
well i unplugged all 3 o2 sensors and it didnt change anything, the motor still runs exactly the same and the CEL isnt on either, and im getting to the point where this thing is pissing me off and im effin tired of having to buy special tools everytime i work on the damn thing any ideas on what would cause the misfire? it seems to be random, it doesnt mis on the same cylinder each time its more of a random chug
have you changed your distributor cap lately? i had that on one of my old trucks one time that did once and that was the problem
cap and rotor were changed probly 3k miles ago and plugs and wires were done around 8k miles ago, i hardly drove the truck at all for the last year, right now im back to driving it everyday, thinking about just takin it to the dealer to get a full diagnostic, i figure spending a little money there might keep me from wasting money later
heres the codes we pulled P0133 - O2 sensor bank 1 P0135 - O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 heater circuit P0141 - O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2 heater circuit P0155 - O2 sensor bank 2 sensor 1 heater circuit P1131 - Lack of upstream Heated oxygen sensor switch - lean Bank 1 P0171 - Bank 1 lean P0174 - Bank 2 lean P0401 - EGR insufficient flow P1409 - EGR vacuum regulator control fault
well, i've dropped about $500 on the truck in the last week or so, now i'm still throwing 3 codes for the heater circuit on each o2 sensor, the truck is running better but still not 100% and still has a rough idle any thoughts on the heater circuit codes? they are getting 12v to the plugs, the fuse is good, and all 3 sensors are new
ok, i still have the problem and the more i drive the stutter is getting worse almost back to the way it was, and the idle under load is still rough as hell, timing is spot on and the cap and rotor are new, all 3 o2 sensors are new, new cat, new egr sensor, new pcv valve, new vacuum lines, new plugs and wires, cleaned the throttle body, new fuel filter, went back to the stock intake and got rid of the CAI, seafoamed a couple times, injector cleaner, only thing left i can think of is the IAC, i'm starting to get fed up and bout ready to sell it, and after spending all that money and clearing up some issues i thought my mpg might improve some from 13.5 mpg, nope filled it up today and im sittin at 12.6
