    the bump stops for the hood have red paint on them, theres over spray in places

    Its possible. I know that 3.55s came on the 97-03 fx4s, but i cant really find much on 04-08.

    Is there any evidence that your truck has been wrecked before? Did you get a carfax on it before you bought it?

    everything looks original, the frame is fine, theres a tiny ding in the rear bumper but i'm not thining anything of it

    Since its an 04 you might've had some options that they got rid of later. Fwiw, Tabs Lariat is a column shift also. Are your gauges the 4 little ones in the middle and the speedo and tach on the outside? Then its probably a FX4 :peace:

    My hood stops have paint on them also, the factory didn't do a perfect job.

    If you have carbon mesh...its an FX4.

    In order for someone to get all the carbon mesh if it didn't have it already...you can't just buy the plastic parts and slap them on...you literally have to change out all 4 door panels completely and then the face plate on the dash.....
