I can't remember, is your truck a crew, or extended cab?

It's a crew cab long bed. They don't get much bigger ha ha.

I'd keep it then, and Excursion or newer truck isn't going to give you any more room or power. Maybe spend some money on the suspension and call it good.

Excursions a no go ever, I need the truck. I was just hoping for something comparable to what I have power wise without the miles and without the work. Doesn't look like that's happening though. I think a lightning would suit me good for a commuter ha ha. Small, fun, and I can still toss some stuff in the bed, plus I just want one. I can use my sd to haul as needed and not rack up the miles. There's no perfect solution here but the wife and I agree that something smaller makes sense . I'd be open to a ranger too if I found one I like, but an SVT would be fun to play with.

My next vehicle purchase will be a lightning no doubt.

Yeah! I've only ever had 4x4s as my daily, I'm ready for something different.

I'd look at a VW TDI for a new daily. or an Audi like Danny is building. I don't really see the point in having two trucks...

I had a Jetta for about 6 months. It just didn't work for work. I wanted a mustang or an older BMW but I know the first time I need to pick up a couple bags of concrete or haul in or haul out my table saw or something I'm going to kick myself. I need a truck but I only need the SD to haul my trailers and machines. I kind of think two trucks is a bit much too but I also think it's a shame to rack up so many miles on a truck that's so expensive to replace. And just the sheer size, in my mind it seems silly to drive a 9000 pound 21 foot long truck around when I only need a few tools for the day or I just need to bring my compressor home for the weekend and stuff like that. The ranger makes more sense but the lightning would be more fun and would kind of double as my sporty toy.
