spare tire winch

    I just took that little plug out of the back of my truck. Its only there to stop someone from lowering your spare and stealing it. And it goes off of my ignition key, no special "spare tire" key for my 07

    On our body style there is a a key like thing that looks like a cylinder that attaches to the rod that can be removed from the engine compartment and then you have to direct the rod with the key thing thru the hole to crank the spare

    yeah, same with ours. I just took the cylinder off and left it open.

    That's what I was thinking. I don't know of any actual keys for the 97-03's... :think:

    i thought u stuck the rod thats under the hood in the hole on the back in the bumper and cranked it down
