    I had a lock on my spare and didn't have the key. So I fixed it with a grinder and hammer

    yes that cylinder thing is what i'm talking about. can you remove that part so you don't have to use it?

    Mine never had it I guess. I bought my truck brand new, so I guess I didn't pay extra for the key lock. :shrug:

    now that you say it my old fleet model didn't have it either......... suck..........

    Mine doesnt have a special key mine just uses the one i put in the ignition

    ya the newer trucks have the locks the spot for the rod. but on mine i have a little aluminum piece that goes on the end of the rod thats under the hood.
