So my motor spit another plug and so now im time serting all 8 cylinders so this can't happen again. I love my truck but this is the second time this has happened. Gets frustrating but at least I don't have piston slap like the gm boys haha.

Btw I'm going to be selling my time sert kit after I'm done with it so let me know if your interested.if you don't know what a time sert is google it, it's a permanent solution to our spark plug problems...

mmmm...glad i dont have to worry bout this (8 thread heads)..i bet its a nightmare. If you torque your plugs to spec you dont have to worry about them spitting.

Yup, last plug change I had, someone else did it. I was to busy to fool with it and it got mismatched plugs and one spit

i work at napa and the best way to install those kits is from the inside of the head out, otherwise they can still come out. The time sert kit reams out the whole and then you thread the whole spark plug hole and insert a carbon steel insert and then install the plug. Ive had good luck with time sert. Ive also installed one i got from work on another thing and it worked but im just more in favor of the time sert...

Eh i think there is more to it than just correct torque. As much as i hate to admit ford engineers kinda muffed the design. But im gonna try and squeeze it into the shop tonight and see if i can work through the nite so i can get it done.

I don't think it's possible to install them the way you said. It would hit the piston.

it works, to install it the way i said you just intall the same way you would from the top but you go from the inside out, while the head is off. Ha this is extrememly hard to describe

I agree about the torquing them correct, I think it's more then that. It's a design flaw from what I understand.
