I did a search on this forum as well as other Ford forums and I couldn't find my answer. There is something really weird going on with my starter. Sometimes, on the odd occasion when I go to start my vehicle the starter will grind, as if the engine is already running when it isn't. I let go right away so I don't damage the flywheel. I just want to know other people's opinions on what I should do. Other than that, it starts up just perfectly. I have a new battery so I don't think it's a battery related issue. A new starter here is around $200+ so I gotta find out for sure before I dump a day's plus worth of wages into it. Any responses will be appreciated!

sounds like the teeth on your starter are bad.

Could be the bendix isn't fully throwing
the starter gear out to mesh with the flywheel.

Thanks guys! Guess either way that means a new starter. I keep hearing about how it is a b***h to get the old one off. I got a new project this weekend if the weather cooperates then. :)
