Ok so it started out my solenoid clicking when I turn the key. So I went and got a new one and put it on and it started fine the first time then after my oil change today the new one is clicking. So I think it's the starter unless you guys know if it's something else.

When I go to start it I'll turn the key the first time and it clicks and the 2nd time it will start. Sometimes it will take 3-4 trys.

this is a much better thread asking about your problem than your other one, the whos rollin in a 250 one.

Anyway, sounds like a ground problem to me as stated above, I would thoroughly clean your terminals with one of the wire brush type cleaners and go from there. The purple spray stuff for terminals really works too, grab a can of that after you get them cleaned and it'll keep em clean.

Even if it doesn't fix the problem, it won't hurt and is good PM

I'll check the wires in the Mornin. I just haven't been thinking good for the past few days. My dad is the hospital for brain cancer and has 3 masses in his head. He is getting worse everyday and the doctors said he will never be able to work again and we can't tell him that now cause he will get worse. And the sad thing is he will be in the hospital on his bday not being able to remember stuff tomorrow. So me n my brother are having to run the farm and **** I thought it would be easier to run then doin the hard jobs and it ain't.

I titled the f250 one that cause it was Rollin down the road lol. And the terminals are clean as can be I clean em every 3 months I'm thinking of cleaning the wires on the starter. Any idea if the starter is easy to get to on a 98 4.6? I never messed with a starter on a newer ford. Just on 95's and older. By the way for anyone that works on chebbys the 1500 reg cab short bed with a 6.0 is a ***** to change anything on mainly the starter. So if a buddy or someone asks u to on either a 5.3 or 6.0 don't do it cause they are a pain.

Back to fords I'll check the wires on the starter in the Mornin.
