I see many trucks with steering stabilizers, more specifically on one tonne trucks or trucks with very high lifts on them. Would it be worth it to install a steering stabilizer on a bone stock truck? I came across an add on eBay for a steering stabilizer kit from Fabtech that would fit my truck. Not that there is anything wrong with the steering on my truck, I just wanted to see if there's any advantage if the truck hasn't been modified at all.

    Installed one on my 2000 F250 4x4.
There were factory Ford brackets and a dimple in the drag link
to attach the stabilizer brackets but it didn't come with one
    from Ford.

Made a big difference in the steering feel especially on bumpy
and pothole filled roads. No sudden jerk from a roadway defect
to tire then to steering components and then to steering wheel.

Took a few days to get used to the steering
feel with the new "dampener" attached to the drag link.

Made the steering feel better in the long run
I can't imagine taking it back off and driving without it.

Our roads here are really bumpy. I found myself gently holding the steering wheel on most roads as it jerked so bad. Mine has helped, feels much smoother and everything.

I heard something about steering stabilizers putting an unneeded load on your tierods and even causing them to snap.

Understandable. It's an added resistance if you're not smashing potholes/rough roads or off roading where you would need it to help.

I thought that was due to the dual stabilizers?

i love my steering stabilizer. not going to lie.

saw a difference when I installed it compared to not having one with my 35s. I feel it was a good purchase.

on new fords (mostly f250s+) we reccomend them if the truck is lifted. the new fords for some reason jerk the steering wheel if you hit a bump
