alright dudes. just installed a new stereo, amp and 2 subs. (will get pics later) i have it all wired up but for some reason the radio works without the ground leads grounded...i dont understand that. the other thing is now my wipers dont work for some odd reason and neither does the washer fluid pump. i checked the fuse and the fuse is fine. i dont really have time to narrow down the problem seeing as how im about to leave to go to the thrice concert tonight and i have work early tomorrow. Any ideas? Its a pioneer stereo for anyone thats wondering (avh p5700dvd)
yea im dumb. the grounds are grounded through the harness. i fricken soldered the 2 ground leads to the ground on the harness and thought i had to ground all 3 of them. the ground lead on the harness IS where it grounds. thats my fault but i have no clue why the wipers dont work. the fuse is good and the relays work. you can hear the relays click but theres no power coming out. looks like i gotta pull up the wiring diagrams. the stereo works great though, just have to hook up the amp and subs.
heres the unit its dark so the pics ****ty but heres the subs. 2 12" JL audio subs. they sound kick ass. running them off an alpine amp. got my wipers fixed too.
the wipers are run through the radio. i connected one of the wires i left unconnected since it makes my door dinger go off all the time and the wipers worked. asked my mechanic at work and he told me sometimes they wire the wipers through the radio.
