Today I was bored so I went under my truck and took the flowmaster off to see what it sounds like since I have never driven like that. So now im stuck on what to do because it does sound awesome with the muffler off but im also worried there isnt enough back pressure. What do you guys think?

I have a 4.6L with flowmaster cat back. all 4 cats removed and replaced with 2 magnaflow highflow cats. The only thing that would change is that I would go true duel with no muffler and an X pipe and still run it straight out the back. I have SIDO now. Stock manifolds.

I also forgot to mention that I will be putting headers on at some point lol.

Just run straight pipes and keep them 2.5" or smaller, 3" is overkill. If you go over 3" it starts sounding raspy and ugly. Dual 2.5" pipes with a crossover and 3.5" tips sounds like sex...only better...

Backpressure is b.s. on a 4 stroke engine. It's more of an issue when dealing with 2strokes (dirtbikes/snowmachines) but not anything to be concerned about on our trucks.

Depends on the weather for me. As hot as it is at the moment, my windows are up tight and the AC is on BLAST.

I really dont mind the noise and I figure it will be alot quieter when its running out the back. Right now it stops right under the passenger seat and its retarded lol. Ill see what my local exhaust shop says and if the price is right ill do it. Ill hang onto the muffler just incase lol.
