Hey guys, Im running an Alpine Mono 600 watt amp, its pushing a 1000 watt alpine type s 12 inch woofer. Often when I start the truck and I havent turned the radio down, or a louder song with more bass comes on the there is a "blast" of bass to the sub, something cuts power to the sub, and the only way to reset it is to cut power to the amp. It never did this with my 2 1000 watt 10s before, and only started doing it when switched to the 12. Im not a stereo guru, I just know how to put it in and tune it up.

    Can anyone help me out?

ooooh gotcha, mines not a blast, but it does it when really loud bass suddenly comes blasts like it over loads or something, then there is no power to the sub until i reset the amp.

I know right? s'got me baffled. Ive installed this system in 4 trucks without a problem, i reckon it has something to do with the sub, but i just dont know what.
