It all depends on what you want. The truck running low 13's weighs 200lbs less than a Lightning. The 5.0 is strong and has great potential for power. But do you really want a short bed, no cab, no 4wd to be able to run those numbers? Plus the new ones are just ugly as hell.

I could see it worth it in a case where you are building a truck for racing. If you were making money with your truck it would pay off. Installing a sc for bragging rights is just pissing money away imo. It did give me more power with my truck but not enough to justify the cost and headache.

I'll agree 100%. You will never get a return for your investment other than fun. There's headache and aggravation. It's like buying a $10k bass boat and spending a few thousand on fishing gear. Constant headache and up keep on the boat, you will never catch enough fish to pay for the boat or gear...but its a hobby. It's what you do for fun.

Yeah, I'm think I'm just going to get a bike instead. Faster than just about everything and 30+mpg. And you can find decent used ones for the same price as a whipple kit :jester:

once you go boost you wont go back. if you look around you can find a kit for less than 6 grand. and the "you cant run more than 6-8 lbs of boost" is nuts, i have a 14 lb pulley on my truck and i used to drive it everyday to college. either or is cool, but i prefer my blower. i got 105hp at the wheels from the blower and 42 lb injectors...that and the sound alone made it worth the money for me haha

^ I know I could run 10-12psi pretty easily, with the supporting upgrades. But that time and money adds up quick, especially when I could be riding a bike on day one for the same price.
