right now i have DDM 35W 6K hid heads and since i don't quite have the money to do a retrofit yet, i'm thinking about swapping out the bulbs for some 4500K's for a whiter light and supposably more light output. Has anyone had experience with 4500k's? do you like them? My friend just put some in his new subbie wrx and the light output seems a little better than mine although he has the factory projectors. I wana know what people think of them in a non projector like housing.

i'm too scared to post this on f150online cause they'll beat me to the ground and light me on fire for having hid's in stock housing :jester:

ive got 5k in mine and theyre really white...however i think one of them is starting to turn more of a yellow haha the more to 3k you go the more yellow you will have. 4500-5500 is really white and have the most usable, 6k you start to get a hint of blue...i say go for it.

The stock housing doesn't project the light like it should be, it seems to be more scattered than using Halogen/Xenon bulbs.
When I bought mine they were advertised as 5K but they are to blue to be 5K.

i thought about that too^ leaving the hid fogs in and putting silverstars in the headlights. as far as price, buying $15 4500k hid bulbs would be cheaper than $40 for silverstars

true....you would have to find out which is better, the HIDs or silverstars.
