Ported boxes hit harder but IMO they are not as "clean" of a bass sound when compared to a sealed box. Our trucks don't have the room under the seats for a correctly sized ported box, unless it was custom made and/or used those shallow mount subs.

I have always ran 12s before these 10s. I had 2 12s in a 87 toyota and it was beating clocks off the wall. lol I miss having a 12, but would settle for a 12, but like you said, there isnt enough room for a properly ported box.

After 5 years working automotive electrical at the chassis up fitter, I worked as a MECP installer at a major retail store. Installing systems in other people's rides. you may wanna add another m1000 to that list.. i had two m1000s for my type r's and it was enough.. your sub is WAY bigger. Anyways, i am gonna start gettin my pieces together for my system. I'mg gonna go with 2 Alpine Type R 12" Subs with a MRP M-2000 powering them.. I already have 4 Alpine type R 6x9s in the doors and a 7" touch screen dvd player for my head unit
