I'm on my way to blacking out my truck. So far I have Tints, blacked tails and 3rd brake light, fender wells, and today I did my badges. The badges turned out good, this is how I did it. Started out like this: Halfway thru: Done: Honestly, I'm not that happy with the job i did on it. I used a spray can from a buddy (Krylon Fusion flat black) and didnt even realize, but for some reason he took out the spray selector and didn't tell me, so the first coat on the passenger badge got pretty ****ed. I ended up taking a spray nozzle from another can and had to try and fix it. I may see if I can score some badges off a wreck at a nearby yard, otherwisee i'll take these off the truck, clean them completely (Varsol, steel wool, and scuff them with sandpaper) and re do it. It looks fine for now though, I really like the look of the blacked out badges. Fenders, running boards with bed liner, and ford emblems are next
All in due time. The biggest thing for me right now is time. I train athletes and only have a few hours here and there of free time so I gotta decide whether to eat lunch/dinner, or work on the truck.
The only chrome i'm gonna leave is the door handles. I think they will set off nice with the black/chrome wheels i have chosen out
What do you guys think on the ford badges. Flat black them both? or do some sort of overlay type deal
