the recharge time is what makes it a no go for me .... if im road tripin i don't want to stop that long. if thay could get it down to an hr or so i mite try one .... but the cost of it to start with makes charge time a mute subject....

    I agree.
If the Power Infrastructure was there. Sleep/Charge/Go
We have 560 miles to our destination, Daytona Beach, Florida.
I'm used to hitting fuel before The Big A, and making it all the way in.
9+ hour one day, counting restrooms/fuel/eat break.
I made it 8+ one time.

Son maybe, but at that XLT ticket price, not yet.

There seems to be some promise of a 30 minute faster charge that gets the Battery to 2/3rd or so in range. Seeing traveling sometimes does have near a 30 minute stop at a mini mart it may still be a good idea as time goes by and fast charging stations explode in numbers at I state stops.

That may be for the Semi's though is my thoughts.

    • Drive your EV Judiciously in Negative Temps!
    • Keep an eye on the extension cord plugged into it.
    • Work on a Dress appropriately to Cyber temps.

    • Keep your truck plugged in always when at home,
    • If the car is covered in snow, DO NOT use the truck to clear it; do that yourself before starting your trip,
    • Don't use the heater when driving in the cold if you can stand it - use the heated seats and steering wheel to keep warm,
    • When going out for a drive, heat the car up WHILE IT'S STILL PLUGGED IN, so that you are not using the battery to warm up the cabin,
    • Drive below the speed limit, to save battery power.
Interesting that running the COOLING system of the truck to also cool the batteries does not seem to create these problems - at least to this extent. Obviously the heater needs an upgraded heat pump designed for the 2030's

i saw a new lightning on my way home from work yesterday. looked pretty cool. but just like everyone else...the range is what matters to me. Aint nobody got time to stop and have to charge your vehicle halfway to the beach ha
