What's up to everyone who is reading this, i just registered on. I know most of you have answered questions about lifts over and over so please help me out. I have a red F150 sidestep fx4 with the 5.4 v8 triton with the matching removeable cargo top. I go mudding quite often and the truck is completely stock at this point. I looked at a few trucks on this forum and wandering what are the pro's and con's in lifting the truck, also would it be a good idea to get a 3 inch body lift with a 3 inch suspension lift, and 35 inch tires?

Ill go ahead and post .....

97-03 F150 - stay away from the 3" suspension kit/torsion keys they wear ball joints and make your cv angles bad ...... 3" body lifts are well worth it , ive had them on all the 97-03 i have

04-08 F150 - some say the 3" leveling kits are bad and put your joints at bad angles and some say there fine .... and a 3" body lift is worth it on these also , my bro has one on his 04 f150

and with a 3" body lift on either of these trucks u can 35s easily , on 04-08s you can run 35s with just a 2.5" leveling kit , on 97-03s you can crank your torsion bars and run 33s

    Hope i helped

Yeah, definitely stay away from a 3in leveling kit if you have a 2004-2008. You might luck out and not have any problems, but its better to be safe than sorry when you can easily run a 35" tire with a 2 or 2.5in leveling kit.

Also, if you arent going to do the labor yourself, you might want to stay away from getting a body lift. Usually shops are outrageous on their labor quotes for installing one, and when it is all said and done, it will only cost an extra couple hundred for a full 6in suspension lift.

    and welcome to FFS!

I have 6inch suspension lift and love it but just for mudding and stuff, get a 3inch performance accessories body lift
