This is Eastern Catalytic "quality"

    So replaced my cats less than 6 months ago with eastern catalytic cats. Which are pretty common replacements, well in less than 6 months, 2 heat shields came off, and one of the cats internal broke apart and rattled like crazy. I was pretty fed up with these and replaced with oem ford ones but decided to cut open the y pipe. Yea.... this is their y pipe at the end of the cats, talk about as bad of flow as you could get. After switching back to oem I noticed slightly more power, and about 1.5mpg increase (Over the 12mpg I was getting)

    Ill let the pics speak for themselves and honestly this quality is pathetic and just warning others

    They cut it with a plasma and made it pretty on the outside?
    Might as well have waded up a soup can and stuffed it down in there.

    ugh. I would send that crap back to Eastern, and tell them their quality control is in need of serious help.

    That was a mess before it was even installed. Now I'm glad I paid the extra cash for the OEM cats.
