Keep gettin a P0171 lean bank code. i just did a tune up, just swapped coil packs. its fine under light cruising throttle but stop and go and you can hear the problem. i'll be doing a swap in the next week or so when the parts get in. figured it was getting close to doing this since the truck has 115k on her ticker.
Oh he will post pics.He lives to make us hapy Hell here i always thot the o2 censors never needed to be replaced.
Some have been using sparkplug non-foulers on the O2 sensor to get it out of the main stream of the exhaust gases to keep false codes from being sent to the ECM. After thought: Unless there is a real problem with the injectors causing a "bank to lean" code to appear.
So if i'm understanding this correctly, I'd install a cap over my o2 sensor then install it back in place? Do you have a link of this cap please? Which one of these? http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...340F2060B9570610DCFEDB16257FA9.diyprod4-b2c14
Dorman Help! 42009 - Spark Plug Non-Fouler | O'Reilly Auto Parts This is a "threaded pipe" so to speak. It has a hole thru the center. Some of the threads I have read says it takes the O2 sensor out of the main stream of exhaust gases thereby making it still sense O2 but not as sensitive. The Doorman # is 42009 and could be found in most "Help" parts sections at retail auto part stores. I would check fitment to the O2 sensor before purchase though. Says 18mm seat on these and two non-foulers for $5.69, some of the other stores want that price or more for one non-fouler.
That makes perfect sense and I think it will fix my issue. Or at the very least maybe it will get it right until the o2 comes in. I'll get that later today and let ya guys know the results
