What size tires can I put on my truck with cranked t-bars (01 4x4 screw). I may be beating a dead horse but what are some real world answers? I see 285/70/17s all day but they are only 33s. I saw 295/70s the other day and there was alot of room on an 03ish screw fx4. Can I get away with a 305/70/17? Also off topic question what is different b/w a normal 4x4 and an fx4?

you can if a 315/70/17 (35) with the t bars cranked and some trimming if you wanted. Basically the Fx4 come with a skid plates, rancho shocks, and a 3.55 or (3.73 too??) rear end and the Fx4 decals

FX4's were rumored to sit a little higher. Dont know for sure. As for stuffing a 35 in there, maybe if its narrow enough, and doesnt have aggressive sidewalls.

im gonna go ahead and say a 305 is the biggest you can fit in the real world. if you like scruubing through pot holes then a 315 will fit.

fx4s have rancho shocks, 3.73s, a limited slip, skid plates and different interior trims. the 12 gen trucks have black where the exterior chrome would be on a regular 4x4

33's are safe for no rubbing at all, but you can fit 35's if you don't care about rubbing the frame at full lock

I like 285s but for only an inch overall difference wouldn't make a big visual difference. I guess I will save my pennies and go with 295/70s or 305/70s. I am gonna put air bags on the back too so it won't rub with the trailer. So the non fx4s dont have ls?

get the 305/70 it's what i have and it's roughly a 33.8" tire(34) the 295's are just a narrower 34. any 4x4 is gonna have a LS differential. some of the 11th gen. fx4's have 3.55 gears, it's what i have and my truck hates them lol and iirc the 09+ fx4's have the electronic locking differentials with 3.73's

i do know that my buddies fx4 01 screw sits lower than mine does. i just have the 4x4 package. 305's all day, 315's will rub so i would stay away from those unless it's just a street queen

I don't offroad often but I tow often, load my truck down, etc. plus I wouldn't want a big clearance problem when I do go offroad
