I bought a tonneau cover off ebay a while ago. Long story short I got it for free since the seller wouldn't send me the missing tailgate bar. Anyways, has anyone seen a bar like this or where I can get one? FYI, the angled part is where the snaps slide on the rail to work with the snaps on the cover.

Do you guys think I could just get a square tube the same size from Home Depot and screw the snaps to it?
Also, has anyone modified a tonneau cover before to work with a toolbox? This cover is for a 6.5' bed, which is what I have except not after the toolbox. Can it be folded over and sewn or does a boat canvas place need to do it for me?

BTW the cover is just a cheap Garage Pro one that can be found at JC Whitney. I knew I would have to modify it before I went through with the purchase, but was willing to make it work somehow once I got it because I don't always want to unload tools from my bed whenever it rains at night.

Thanks for any ideas in advance. :cheers2:

I had to replace the tailgate bar on my Mazda because like a dummy I lost it. The rear bar was $120. So the seller may not have ever had the rear bar, and was trying to unload it. The only reason I paid as much was because it was an Extang cover I paid nearly $300 for and was only a about 6 months old. Good luck on getting that tailgate piece to work.
