Anyone else think that sounds like cracked flex plate?

    If others think so,
can you inspect the flex plate where the
torque converter bolts to it, what most people think is the flywheel?

Look for cracks or missing bolts.

Is there a way I can inspect it easily?

I'll check that out tomorrow- the flex plate, the output shaft was a little loose tho also. My grandpa was a mechanic, listened to it, he is leaving on a trip for a week tomorrow so he said drive it easy, let it get worse so we can actually find the problem, he didn't think the noise in person was too bad. He said when he gets back we can take the trans out and rebuild it. Or fix the problem. My uncle also just rebuilt a e4od so I have a couple people around me that are firmiliar with transmissions. Hopefully it's just a 70 buck rebuild kit and not a 300 buck rebuild kit that I need.

Sounds like if read from around, either cracked flex plate, or the spring set that holds the clutches.

Yep the e4od has a plate you can remove without removing the trans.. take it out and remove your starter then use a large flat head to spin the flex plate around.. inspect it and make sure the 4 torque converter bolts are tight

Thank you, I'll try that tomorrow. That would at least let my nerves ease about wondering what is wrong
