It was 1/2 and I tried but I couldn't get a wrench in there because of the exhaust and I didn't have the right exstentions but I did take the peep hole cover out and moved the flex plate around and that didn't seem to make the noise. It wasn't loose and seemed fine

Mason slide under the truck with your face near the oil pan, looking back towards the tranny you'll see a part of the tranny that drops lower than the engine block, there is two bolts there holding a plate onto the trans, pop those out and you can see the flywheel. I'm thinking it sounds like a flywheel problem an not internal tranny because typicall internal stuff has a deeper tone to it, that sounds like something more externalish

Oh an use an open end wrench to undo it, it's easiest way around the exhaust. But once it's off, turn the engine over by hand, looks for cracks or wear and also make sure the tc bolts are tight

Alright, I'll find a box end and pop the cover off. I see what you mean now. Would I still have to pull the trans to repair the tc or flex plate?

Unfortunately yes, but just see how it looks first. Look for cracks, wear, shavings, loose tc bolts, anything

Well I don't know this is weird but the transmission hardly make the noise anymore and it seems fine but every once in a while od will kick in at a low speed and it shakes the truck since its low rpm but I don't know. This weird to any if you?

Correction- aode transmission. What I've read is maybe a oil pump going bad. Any thoughts

Can you help me identify it? I looked up the pan bolt pattern an it is of a aod and not a e4od. Maybe just a standard aod?

I'm so confused on the identification.
