    If it was me I would take it to the trans shop and have someone drive it. To see if they could get an idea of what it was. Get a written quote from then on what it would cost to fix it. Then pull the trans yourself and take it to them.

    Or do y'all think I should just go to the junkyard and get a trans and put a shift kit, filter and drop it in

    don't know what your getting at the junkyard. You may pull one that needs a total rebuild.

    I would still take it the to the trans shop

    Alright I'll give it a shop. I doubt anyone helping me here lives in St. Louis and has someone they trust
