There a reason you don't just rebuild yours?

I personally don't know how to, and I don't have a shop around me that I trust enough to rebuild mine. My buddy refered me to one shop so I've gotta give them a call and see what they'll do for me. I'd like it to be "beefed" up with stronger internal parts but I don't want a shop charging me for those parts and not actually doing the work. I don't trust people with my shat especially after my regearing experience....

yeah that is junk! if youre going to get a cooler get one that will actually cool the trans. get the kit from mike at madenterprise.com. its about $166 and is an F250 transmission cooler. its similar to what i am running.

    MADENTERPRISE

as for the trans, if you feel comfortable with the company, go for it. what stall TC are you getting?

Haha yeah I thought the price seemed steep. Ill prob use my stock tranny cooler for now and throw in somethin like the one you're talkin about later on down the road, price of this trannys gonna kill my bank acct lol I do feel comfortable with the company its just gonna suck waiting for the tranny to get here. Ill prob stick with the 1600-1800 stall just because its my DD.

It didn't effect your gas mileage at all? Just felt like more power was getting through your trans at the higher rpm? I'm not really sure why I would need a higher stall than 1700, its not like I'm racin it or anything I just like to romp on it every now and then. But hey, if its not hurtin anything and will only make It more fun to drive then I figure why not?

yup, because peak torque in the 5.4 is at 2500 rpms.

i like the stall, maybe some people wouldnt. if i drive normally, i can still shift the trans at 2K rpms like regular.

My friends dad refered me to aamco transmission shop in my city so I called and got a quote, 1800 r&r with flush of cooling system, or just about 1000 for just the rebuild. That comes with 12month/12k mile warranty.

    Aamco:
    Finished in 2 days
    $1800 r&r
2-3 Hour fully flushed cooling system
    12kmile/12month warranty

    Monster:
3 weeks to deliver, few days for me to install
    $2377.03 just trans and TC
Have to flush my own cooling system
    3 year/unlimited mile warranty

I offroad my truck a lot and I'm always yankin on somebody that's stuck, I don't tow too much, but I do have 4.56s. Only reason why I want the monster is for the durability and the 3 year warranty but ill have to do the work and be without a truck for a month....and $600 less in bank acct.
    Hmmm....
