This happened a few months back, but I thought y'all might like to hear another success story regarding the durability and longevity of these trucks when they are well taken care of. In 13 years and 153,000 miles of existence, my truck wouldn't start. For the first time ever something went mechanically wrong. Long story short the metal tab connecting the battery wire to the starter solenoid became so corroded and rusted it broke off and wouldn't allow for a connection to be made. I just thought it was really cool that after all this time and heavy use as a work truck the ONLY thing to go wrong was with a Quarter sized piece of metal. Replaced it with a new piece, and just as good as new!
not only is it nice to see a 98 w/ 153k still going strong, but for the 4.6L to be goin that long and strong makes me glad i got into my 4.6L. very cool!
