Speedo had been acting up real bad. I guess some little plastic gears got stripped out? Not real sure what they are but i know it's $350 to replace (labor). Haven't had my truck for 2 days already, should be getting it back tomorrow (shop waiting on the parts). It was just in the shop less than a week ago having a seal replaced that I really didn't want to deal with. This is just the most recent burst of breakdowns, not even going to bother to list the several grand worth of other stuff.... Getting sick of this. Still love my truck though...
that sucks man, i know on my dad's f150 2000-02 i beleive it was between those years, his speedo was acting up also, like if he was doing 40 and below, it wouldnt register at all, so finally he took it into the shop, dont know what was wrong with it, but they got it fixed
Sucks to hear dude, and good luck on the repair. Sadly, our trucks are getting to the point where things are going to start breaking and simply wearing out. It's the road I always try to stay aware of at all times. It comes with driving a vehicle nearing 10 years old in my case. I'm always catching myself wondering if that noise was there yesterday or was that the road causing it to pull and what not. I still enjoy it more then having a car note every month. I don't mind dropping a couple hundred here and there to make normal repairs, in my opinion it's still a hell of a lot cheaper then buying a new one that will one day need the same repairs made to it. Of course once one starts becoming a money pit that all changes...
That's why I got rid of my '97 and ordered this '05. It had started making noises that sounded like money.
Till those sounds start actually costing me money I prefer to keep the 400.00-450.00 in my pocket every month.
I thought about that too but these were some rather expensive sounds in the front end. Ones that I wouldn't have gotten my money back out of when I went to get rid of it. I had been kicking around a new truck anyway and when that employee pricing for everyone deal came through, it was time to **** or get off the pot, so to speak.
