Long yaks carry speed better and shorter ones are more maneuverable. Says the guy at bass pro shop. I stood up a few times and it's pretty sketchy haha, pretty unstable. What sucks even more is having to kneel forward to get something out of the dry storage on the front lol. Also me and my buddy found a crab trap on the creek and I pulled it up and the fish that was flappin inside scared the shat out of me and I almost flipped over
Haha. I'm literally lol'ing right now because I can picture myself doing the exact same thing. Since mine is the sit-in type, the pontoon style hull makes it a little easier to stand in since I have somewhere to put my feet at. Still sketchy tho.
dude i wasn't expecting that lol. he said crab trap so i'm thinking ok theres gonna be a few crabs sitting around *FLAPFLAPFLAP* OH GOD! but yeah standing doesn't work. i probably won't do it again because i'll pretty much fall out because i already have terrible balance standing on flat ground as it is haha. only thing i need is a foam piece to go on the extender so my yak doesn't get all scratche up. bass pro shop had one with a V cut into it for roof racks so i'll probably use that.
Haha dude I wish I would have been there. Yea I need something to help prevent mine from getting too scratched.
There was an opening into a little private lake we went into with 2 metal bars. One about 2ft above water and one flush with the water... I paddled over the one flush with the water not seeing it and felt the scrape down the whole boat
