Yeah, Ford really improved crash ratings with the 2004 and up F150's. They weren't so great the previous generation. The one drawback to owning a 97-03 is it's not so great crash ratings.
This Don't apply to the 01-03 super crews....it's because of the B piller they have. They don't crumple like the scabs. But I don't care either way I've still owned some.
Yeah, that "floating" rear door design is the reason for the bad crash test ratings on the supercabs. There's nothing to stop the crumbling effect in a head on collision.
