We need a sticky that says... Dont wash your engine!!!

Just finished up installing new coil on plug components and new sparkplugs as well. Due to the fact that I was detailing the truck this past week and decided to pop the hood and give the cooled down engine a quick rinse. I didnt drown it either. Went to start the damned thing and it idled like shat and when I put it in drive, the truck stumbled big time and the check engine light went on immediately. Then the truck cut off.
I seriously thought I killed it...lol

Come to find out after a google search that these engines dont like getting wet. So I removed a cop and noticed at least 20ml of water down in the plug hole.
3 of my cops were damaged.
Truck really needed new ones as they were all not firing 100% like they should.
So I got the new motorcaft cops and plugs and went to air compressed blowing out each individual hole.
Man, water was flying everywhere...lol

Got them dried out, changed plugs and put on new cops and the truck runs like a new one.

Mental note for next time...

Whats funny is that I have had numerous mustangs and always washed the engines. Latest bieng the 4.6 engine. I never have had one issue with the cop design on them.
My 5.4 just does not like it one bit.
