    i think i may do it myself now that i kno the problem for sure, thanks to yal.

    all i got is an hour or so window to fix it before i go to school and i didnt wanna tear it apart and chase problems all day

    Wait, you have 2 coil packs not 8 individual ones correct?

    I know that the 4.6 has the 2 coil packs with plug wires. They are on each side of the head in the front of the motor. I would assume that the 97 5.4s are the same way. I bet no one has thought about this.

    i just read westtns write up on changin plugs and it said his 5.4 had 8 individual ones. im gonna go with mine having the same i guess.

    They changed I think in 01. I know for sure that a 97-99 4.6 has 2 coil packs. I dont know about a 5.4

    Go outside and freakin look so we will both know. :jester:

    dude i dont even kno what to look for. i was gonna go to autozone, get a coil for a 97 f150 and change out the thing that it looked exactly like hahahaha

    cyl 4. pass. side, all the way in the back right?

    the code reader at AZ said misfire cyl 4, so i would assume it has 8??

    Yea I think you have 8. I think its just the 4.6 that has the 2 coil packs
