I see a lot of tire threads on other forums about what tires to run, and think it would be kind of cool to start a comparison thread, for people that are in the market for some new rubber. Post your tire of choice, why you like them, and how much you paid, and it could help people that are undecided about their expensive purchase. I'll start!

    Tire: Toyo MT

    Size: 285/75/16

    wear: Great

Lifespan: for ever (load range E 60-75k miles)

    Price: $290 each

I friggen love them, and they have an incredible lifespan if treated properly. Quiet on the road, don't pack up too bad in the mud, and do great in the snow.

Shwaab mud terrain txr's (Avon brand I think)

    315, 75 r 16.

The tires were on the truck when we bought it. They are wearing uneven due to the previous owner driving it with a bad alignment. I'm not impressed with the grip at all. Tires look good and drive good on pavement, but in anything else they are less than perfect.

I had nitro terra grapplers on my screw

    285 75 17

Best tires I ever owned, I will be getting them again.

Also have BFG AT on the escape

    245 70 15

Great tires, good wear, long life. I feel safe having them on my wife's car hauling her and the baby around. They're just a bit loud.

    Good thread chris!

performs well in the snow at Big Bear, not too bad in the sand at Glamis, and great in the mud and rain. They aren't too loud on the street. Tire wear is significant, partly my fault for putting off a much needed alignment a while back and failure to rotate tires often. I'm definitely not going to get 40,000 miles out of these suckers as claimed. I paid $350 a piece for all five, not including tax. Not too bad considering these things were $700+ when they first came out. They are discontinued in the 40s so I'm looking at toyos for the future. They are a great all-around tire; I just drive the hell out of them and beat them up pretty good.

Not sure on the wear. I only have 4k miles on them.
Not sure on price. Purchased as a wheel/tire package after much negotiation with Mr. Wheel Deal

    around 270 i think

I love these tires! they wear great and are awesome in the snow/sand/mud...they arent very loud for a bigger tire either. the only complaint i have is they ride extremely stiff. when these wear out i will be replacing them with the same thing only most likey a 305
