You hafta think about the width of the wheel also to work with a lift not just offset... Like rough country 4-5" needs at the most a 4.5" backspacing to work... on a 10" wide wheel that's a -12mm offset and will work... on an 8" wide wheel 4.5" of backspacing would be +12mm offset and work with the lift... but on a 12" wide rim -12 would be 5.5" of backspacing and won't work with that lift... you'd need at least -38mm offset on a 12" wheel but not too many people run 12" wheels haha but I've seen a few runnin -44... My stock wheels had +25mm offset and worked with the rough country lift that's a 7" wide wheel with 4.5" of backspacing, yes even though thier site says will not work with stock wheels, some stockers do work
So 4" backspacing? that'll work with the Rough Country 4-5" lift... I wasn't trying to correct 97 Red but I just didn't want someone that's lookin for wheels to come across this and think they needed a negative offset to run a lift...
Thanks man! I posted a thread in the tech info section called "wheels 101" further explaining tire and wheel fitment
