I have a 2005 F-150 xlt with about 98000 miles on it and it has been awesome. I have put very little money into it, but the rear axle seal on the passenger side went (over time) and i think its time to redo everything back there.
    seals
    emergency brake shoes
    brake shoes
    bearings
    new rotors
and of course refill the axle with oil..

I have gone into rockauto to order parts and it is asking me to identify which axle i have. I am not a mechanic, but i am not apprehensive about doing my own work. What is the measurement they are asking for with regards to
    8" or 9.75? Thanks

    9.75 is a 12 bolt just like the 10.25 isn't it?

If you have the 4.6, it might be the 8.8, if it's the 5.4 you have the 9.75, unless it's 7-lug, then it's a Sterling 10.25.

    9.75
