We have an 96 dodge 3500 that has 300k on it and has never had anything other than an oil, air filter change and two wheel bearings. It gets the piss worked out of it 5 days a week, its a regular cab on extended cab long bed frame and we have loaded as much as 8000 lbs in the bed while pulling nearly 18k on a trailer..pulls without a grunt. Its got the 4 speed with granny low. The only complaint I have about a Cummins is it doesn't come in a Ford.

I know I'm just saying :jester:

my dad has an 07 f150 and the 4x4 went out at 40K miles and warranty covered that thankfully, power mirrors went out soon after, but he's a smoker so they were getting a work out anyway.. and now at 106k miles the transmission is going out. I don't think a transmission should be going out at 106,ooo miles.. but it's a nice truck and my dad is still devoted to ford and now wants an 08-10 f250 KR which is fine with me :birgits_tiredcoffee:

point is that even Fords can have problems, but as my dad has said he has owned almost every kind of truck and keeps going back to Ford and I understand I love fords! interior is better then chevy, dudge is way too crampt, tacos are wayyy to small and they are the best looking trucks on the road :peace:

Oh no, don't get me wrong, Ford's aren't without their problems too.

FWIW, I've never had to have any work done other then a couple of recalls since purchasing the truck new in Sept. of 2002. So in my case, I'm more then pleased with my current Ford.

all i know is when it comes to abuse....i mean real downright evil brutilazation...ford will stand the test....every1 who knows me will say they will never do what i do to thier trucks...but...i know why....they dont have enough gall to just go buy a damn ford...they want to look pretty and carry the status quo....i couldnt give a damn about pretty....i want to know that i can 4wheel...pull a load....carry a load or go on a 1000 mile trip and not be concerned.....and for me..... thats ford...bottom line
