Lol, lots of funny/true comments on here.

I will play the devil's advocate though and wait for y'all 2bash me ;)

IF this ad is real, I for one know that when I was 15/16 I was an idiot/asshole at times and it took life experience/hard work/being kicked in the balls to grow up and realize the world doesn't revolve around me. Now of course my first car was a beat up Ford Escort, but that's b/c that's all me and my folks could afford (they matched what I paid for it).

But I'm kind of torn b/c I know I plan to give my kids better than what I had even though I want them to have a good work ethic. It is indeed a fine line btwn spoiling your child to death and making sure they realize that they are not a mini-deity. I mean we may hate to admit it, but there are just some people in this life who will never have to work for anything and thru old family money will be given the finer things in life. That's just the way it is.

And while we (myself included) may say we the kid's a douche and we want to kick his ass, when it all is said and done, there is probably atleast a wee little bit of jealousy at a 16yr old punk having a vehicle that some of us may never be able to afford. I'm just sayin...

    Alright, I'm done psychoanalyzing.

I think putting mine in something safe is what I'm going to do...it may not be a brand new mustang(what my daughter wants.....she will be driving soon :( ) but one that is a few yrs older and nice safe and repectable. They can still have nice things and be taught to appreciate them.

when i have a kid im not gonna want them to go without, but they sure as hell wont get a brand new truck. if i have a son il get him an older vehicle, but still reliable,(so a Ford) that he can work on himself without confusing a bank of computers or having to pay a butt ton for parts. maybe an old work truck. and if he gats a job and wants something nicer, he can pay for it himself and finance it or whatever and ill put him on my insurance and all that. but if he gets behind on payments then the banks gonna takes it. hell be without a vehicle.

if i have a daughter, itll be a vehicle that I can work on without confusing computers or paying my right arm for parts...so see above.

I agree. I want to give my children a lot better life than what I had growing up. My first car my dad gave me and he said if I get it running I can start driving. I spent weeks working in it. The tranny went out like after 10 miles, and the helped me scrap it and get a Ranger. Still I learned so much, and now value every vehicle I own. I will repeat that. I have a friend that is almost 30 with a kid on the way, and he trashes cars like there is no tomorrow. Its not the children's fault. Its the parents fault for not instilling the fear of god into their children.
