this is prolly a stupid question... but ima ask anyways...
What is so good and great about new gears? i hear alot about yukon gears... and dont know exactly whats the cons and pros are of getting them, or any new gears at that.,, other than doing better at turning bigger tires..
Would some one please break this down for me?:peace:

Gears will help ease the strain of the bigger tires on your tranny. Gears can help increase gas mileage by putting the engine in the stock rpm range. When you put bigger tires on, the effective gear ratio will be reduced and the engine will operate below its optimum power band which is why when you regear, you get the power back and your truck will feel less sluggish.

Yukon is a reputable brand of gears a lot of people use. G2 is another one and there are a few more such as motive and ford racing.

How soon do you think you will get 37s? Do you do mostly highway driving or in town?

4.56 is the gear ratio you should by. Post up your axle code and we can tell you whether you got the 8.8 or 9.75 rear end unless you know already

^ ty 4.56 would be too much for highway. 4.11 or 4.30 would be best, even with 37s. IMHO of course.

I think 4.56 is a good balance. 4.88 is what most people go for 37s but since 4.88 limits top end, 4.56 would be good for him. He might be a little higher than stock but not by much. Well actually we don't know his stock gears so it's hard to say
