thanks joe. ill see if i can sneak my dads owners manual without him questioning me lol i wasnt sure if the turbo timer was just for diesels or anything with a turbo. i dont think the truck has a pyrometer but i wll check and get back to you.

i will say that we called a local install place to get a quote, i called first and they said nothing about hooking up anything extra, im sure they would charge extra for the turbo timer, when i told them it was for an Ecoboost. my mom also went there to try and seal the deal and again they said nothing about a turbo timer. all they said was that door locks were $50 extra and that they were using an Xpresskit DBall transponder. makes me think that this wouldnt have to be hooked up, unless you think this wouldnt be something they would charge extra for.

hey joe. looking to install a remote start in my dads truck after since the units the local install place arent as good as what i can get for the price.

my question is on the turbo timer wire. my dad has an EcoBoost, just wondering what the purpose of this wire is and is it needed.

If you didn't connect the lock wire to the remote start that should be in the factory system, look it up in the Mustang's Owner manual with her.

ok cause my girlfriend got tired of having to use her key in the door to unlock the doors when she remote starts it so i hooked the door locks up for her. i hooked up the unlock wire with a relay, the car requires a + input for unlock when the remote start gives out a - input. they work fine but now she says she thought the door locked before when she put it in drive.

me installed the unlock wouldnt have anything to do with the ignition controlled locks right? i didnt install the lock wire on the remote start since i didnt have another relay on hand.

      hey roush, hows everything going?

quick question for you, are ignition contolled locks something that would come standard on cars/trucks?
    8. Pity7700
not really sure. i mean the door alarm doesnt go off anymore which is good. the only time my battery would die is if i didnt drive the truck for a day or two since the battery wouldnt have a chance to recharge when the truck is running. I have noticed on my EDGE the battery voltage reading is slightly higher than it was before i changed the fuse and rewired it. im hoping that was the problem. i will let you know if its not and then ill have to do a phantom draw test.

All i have to say is fuse #8:facepalm:. it controls the radio/acc wire. i took the metra harness off and started testing wires to make sure i had constant power on the wires that should be constant and power on the wires that should only have power when the key is turned to the on position. i thought maybe one of the pins in the metra harness werent long enough or somerthing was broke causing me not to get power to the acc. wire on the metra harness. ended up finding i have no power at the Black/violet acc. wire. that was why i had to jump the acc. wire on the metra harness to the constant 12v wire for the radio/wipers to work. checked my fuses, fuse number 8 was blown...not sure how it got blown.

thats where i went to get mine. i looked right at those but then i saw the 12v diodes so i figured they would work. ill go get a package of them tomorrow. i did solder the one i bought in-line with the stripe towards the radio on the red wire. well see if that helps. i dont know what is going on. the truck dies if i dont drive it enough and its a bradnew battery.
