Hey y'all, I have been looking into getting train horns for my truck and I stumbled across a website called trainhornsdelivered.com The Maximus IV train horn kit sounds very nice but I was wondering if any of y'all have heard anything about that, like reviews and stuff? here's the link: Train Air Horn Kits - Max Level Four
For that price you would be better off buying a kit from Hornblasters.com, there shocker kit is around 500 or so and way better quality, or you can save up for what you will eventually wish you had ( atleast most do) and get a set of Nathan air chimes, those are true train horns. If they are chrome or plastic they aint train horns, real train horns say Nathan on em.
Here is my build. Nathan K5HLs http://www.fordfullsize.com/forum/f56/my-train-horn-build-nathan-k5s-2711/ Here is a video that gives you a idea of how they sound, but way louder in person e9ac394f.mp4 video by jwaltonpix - Photobucket
Here are the hornblaster kits, but like I said you will end up wanting Nathans Hornblasters Air Horn Products Catalog! Find The Perfect Train Air Horn For Your Car Or Truck!
actually jwal one minor correction. the only real train horns out are leslie and nathan. this is the only two brands you will find on a locomotive. leslie has some real nice stuff from back in the day but nathan is dominating the industry.anyone who thinks about getting air horns should infact get train horns. i do not recommend the set the op posted only because they are generic and will not last long.
What are the feeling of semi horns vs train horns? I'm getting the semi horns for free, so unless you want to hook me up with some train horns... I'm just wondering about the dB difference.
Thanks, that helps a lot! Since i don't have 2000 bucks to spend on Nathans, I will probably look into getting the hornblaster kits.....maby later on when i have half a fortune in my wallet i will get nathans
